This is the payoff. When bars shutter, grills ignite. Glowing carts appear like fireflies along Gui Jie and outside 24-hour bathhouses. Friends queue for cumin lamb, tofu skins, and offal skewers, arguing over who pays while oil hisses. It is communal, messy, essential.

The most concentrated and international nightlife zone. You'll find a mix of sleek cocktail bars, loud pubs, and large clubs here, often attached to the Taikoo Li mall complex. The crowd is a blend of expats, tourists, and fashion-forward locals.
The vibe is more low-key and exploratory. Bars are tucked into ancient alleyways, often in renovated courtyard houses. It's the place for intimate conversations, discovering a new favorite band in a tiny venue, or finding a hidden cocktail spot.
Known locally as Gongti, this is the heart of Beijing's clubbing and live house scene. The venues here are larger, louder, and draw bigger crowds looking to dance. It's where you go when you want the full nightclub experience.
